HWPX to Excel for free – how to move tables from an HWP document into Excel
In government offices and schools, there are plenty of times when you have to move a table from a HWP (Hancom Office) document into Excel. Copying and pasting often breaks the cells or ruins the formatting, so you end up typing everything again by hand.
EasyCVT HWPX to Excel is a free online tool that moves the tables in an HWP document into an Excel sheet.
How does it work?
The inside of an HWPX document, the standard format for public institutions, is structured as XML. The tool extracts the table structure from it and converts it into an Excel (.xlsx) sheet. Processing happens in your browser, and the file is not uploaded to a server.
Important: you need an .hwpx file, not .hwp
This tool supports .hwpx files only. If you have an older .hwp file, convert it first as follows.
- Open the file in Hancom Office Hangul (HWP).
- Choose [File] → [Save As].
- Select .hwpx as the file type and save.
This assumes documents saved in Hancom Office Hangul 2014 or later.
How to use
- Drag and drop the .hwpx file onto the upload area, or choose it with "Browse HWPX files".
- Press "Convert to Excel (.xlsx)".
- Download the converted Excel file.
Who it is for
- Public officials and school staff who need to organize name lists and status tables from official documents and application forms into Excel
- Office workers who need to calculate with budget tables or quotes received as HWP files
- Anyone who has to move survey results or participant lists from HWP to Excel
Good to know
This tool is meant for converting table data. It works best for content organized as tables rather than ordinary body text.
