When you upload photos to a blog or an online store, you have probably run into "the image is too large to upload" or "I shrank it and now it looks blurry." Installing Photoshop-type software feels like overkill, and ordinary online tools make you upload your photos to a server, which does not feel great either.
Today I would like to introduce a free tool that solves both problems at once: the EasyCVT Image Resizer & Sharpener.
What is this tool?
It is a web tool that lets you set the width and height of an image in pixels and, if needed, apply a sharpen filter before saving.
The key point is that your file is not uploaded to a server. It is processed inside your own browser, so you can work on personal photos or business images with peace of mind.
Main features
- Set the resolution by typing the width and height in pixels
- Aspect ratio lock (so the photo does not get squashed)
- Sharpen option: adjustable strength from 1 (subtle) to 10 (strong), default 5
- Supported formats: JPG, PNG, WebP
How to use
- Select an image or drag and drop it onto the upload area.
- Check the photo in the thumbnail.
- Enter the width and height you want. With the aspect ratio lock on, you only need to enter one of them.
- If you are worried about the photo getting blurry when it is made smaller, tick the sharpen option and choose a strength.
- Press the convert and save button and you are done.
Who is it for?
- People who need to match photo sizes for blogs, online communities or online stores
- People who want to make a photo look a bit crisper after shrinking it
- People who need to work quickly on an office PC without installing software
Tips
Rather than setting the sharpen strength high from the start, begin at the default of 5 and adjust after looking at the result. A lower strength looks more natural for portraits, and a slightly higher one works well for text and product photos.
