You may need a photo for a resume, a certificate application or an employee ID, but have no time to visit a photo studio. If you have a good photo but gave up because cropping it to the right size was hard, today's tool can help.
EasyCVT ID Photo Maker is a free online tool that crops a photo you already have to a standard size.
Supported photo sizes
- ID photo 2.5 x 3 cm: for certificates, employee IDs and resumes
- Photo 3 x 4 cm: the standard size for general identification
- Photo 5 x 7 cm: for profile and professional use
Key feature: the portrait guide
A semi-transparent portrait guide appears on the screen, and you only need to line up the face and shoulders with it. You do not have to guess the position or size of the face, so even first-timers can make a neat photo easily.
- Drag to move the photo
- Use the mouse wheel (two-finger pinch on mobile) to resize
- Rotate 90 degrees left or right
- Input formats: JPG, PNG, WebP
How to use
- Choose the photo size (2.5 x 3 cm / 3 x 4 cm / 5 x 7 cm).
- Click to find a photo, or drag and drop it onto the screen.
- Line up the face and shoulders with the guide. If the photo is sideways, use the rotate buttons.
- Press "Confirm & download" and the photo is saved cropped to the standard size.
Security matters more for personal photos
A face photo is sensitive personal information. The tool states that it runs entirely inside your browser without sending anything to a server, so you have less reason to worry about your photo being stored elsewhere.
Tips for a better result
- Use a photo taken from the front, against a bright, plain wall.
- A photo with some space above the head and below the shoulders is easier to line up with the guide.
- Requirements such as background color and when the photo was taken may differ by organization, so check in advance.
